Cowboys Rookies Disappointed to Find Training Camp Lacks Summer Camp Vibes

Dallas Cowboys rookies recently confessed they were looking forward to training camp, hoping it would be more like a classic summer camp for kids. "I thought we'd be making friendship bracelets and singing campfire songs," one lamented, "but it turns out it's mostly, you know, football."

First round pick Tyler Guyton, who showed up on the first day with a bag of marshmallows and a well-loved copy of "Campfire Songs for Dummies," was crestfallen to find the only thing being roasted was the Jerry Jones on social media for failing to get a long term deal done with CeeDee Lamb. "Where's the canoeing and archery? The zip line?" he asked, bewildered.

Teammates, amused by the rookies’ innocence, kindly explained that NFL training camp is about grueling workouts and mastering playbooks, not arts and crafts. Guyton’s biggest disappointment? "No s'mores," he sighed. "How am I supposed to bond with the team if we can't even toast marshmallows together?"

At press time he was making s’mores with the microwave in his room, but it “just wasn’t the same.”
