Dak Prescott's Birthday Cake Fiasco: 55-Foot Big Tex Cake Goes Uneaten

DALLAS—Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott planned to celebrate his birthday in style with a life-size cake of Big Tex, the iconic 55-foot tall figure from the State Fair of Texas.

However, Prescott made a critical error: he had the colossal confection constructed in Dallas while he's stuck at training camp in California.

"I thought it would be the perfect birthday surprise for myself," Prescott lamented over a Zoom call with teammates, the massive cake looming behind him on screen. "Turns out, shipping a 55-foot cake isn't exactly practical. Believe me, I’ve exhausted every option.”

The cake, a marvel of sugary engineering, remains untouched in the backyard of Dak’s Dallas area home, guarded by salivating security staff. "It's like a giant, delicious statue taunting me from a thousand miles away," Prescott sighed, while admitting that he literally can’t think about anything else.

Declaring it his "worst birthday ever," Prescott vowed never to trust Google Maps again for birthday logistics. "Next year, I'm just getting cupcakes of mini versions of Big Tex, even though it won’t taste as good," he grumbled.
