Daryl "Moose" Johnston Mistook Cheers for Boos Throughout Career

DALLAS—In a surprising revelation, former Cowboys fullback Daryl "Moose" Johnston admitted he spent his entire NFL career mistakenly believing home crowds were booing him whenever he touched the ball.

"I always thought they were jeering, but it turns out they were chanting 'Moose!' all along," Johnston chuckled, recalling decades of misunderstandings on the gridiron.

Sources close to Johnston revealed he often questioned his performance, wondering why fans seemed displeased every time he ran the ball. "I even considered changing my nickname to 'Deer' to avoid confusion," Johnston joked, demonstrating his signature shoulder pads adorned with antlers.

Despite the mix-up, Johnston remains a beloved figure among Cowboys faithful, who continue to fondly remember his contributions creating holes for Emmitt Smith to become the all-time rushing leader. At press time, Johnston was reportedly considering a book titled "From Boo to Moose: My Misheard Memoirs."
